Girls, ages 7-17, come join us!!

LPGA-USGA only national initiative of its kind just for girls, encourages girls to learn to play the game, build friendships and learn to compete in a positive and supportive environment. This developmental junior golf program provides the opportunity
to achieve success and have fun while establishing
a life-long interest in the game.

LPGA-USGA Girls Golf is organized as a partnership between the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the world's longest-running women's professional sports association, and the United States Golf Association (USGA), the national governing body of golf.

To date, more than 4,500 girls, ages seven to 17, participate at over 190 sites nationwide. The program offers a 16-session instruction module, which includes a five-level progressive learning system on the course, starting from the green and moving back to the tee. Many LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites have year-round activities, meeting monthly during the school year and weekly during the summer months.

LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites are coordinated by site directors who are LPGA or PGA professionals, USGA members, volunteers, parents or members of local golf associations. Each individual program covers the costs of access fees, snacks, special events, awards, instruction and other miscellaneous expenses. Costs are offset through fund raising, membership dues, and the matching grants program funded by the USGA. The matching grants program provides financial assistance for instruction, equipment, and course and range access.

Georgia and the partnership with the GSGA

In 2004, the Georgia State Golf Association (GSGA) teamed up with the United States Golf Association (USGA) to expand its Girls' Program and establish a one-year pilot project focusing on growing girls golf within the state through the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf national initiative. Goals of this partnership included increasing the number of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites in Georgia , building strong relationships between the sites and the GSGA, and ultimately providing more opportunities for girls in Georgia to learn and enjoy the game of golf.  Since then, the number of LPGA-USGA Girls Golf sites in Georgia has increased from three to 15; the number of girls participating in local and state tournaments has increased; a statewide junior golf summit with key industry leaders was conducted to discuss the current status of junior golf; and most importantly, more girls have been introduced to the game and experienced the pure joy of hitting the ball for the first time.
